Jaw Crusher Flywheel
Jaw Crusher Flywheel

Jaw Crusher Flywheel

The flywheel is an imperative component of a jaw crusher attached to the eccentric shaft. It provides significant momentum to the moving jaw, drastically reducing the energy required to crush materials. The jaw crusher flywheel is usually constructed from low-alloy, high-strength, or ZG35 casting steel.

Qiming Casting has worked extensively with numerous high-quality local foundries to produce and design a wide range of flywheels for quarries, mines, and other industrial customers. We take pride in our attention to detail and quality craftsmanship, which has resulted in the creation of top-of-the-line flywheels that are durable, efficient, and reliable.

Eccentric Shaft

The eccentric shaft is a critical component of the jaw crusher, as it drives the movement of the moving jaw, which is responsible for crushing materials within the crushing chamber. Without it, the crusher would not function properly.

The jaw crusher eccentric shaft is typically constructed using 30Mn5 casting steel for its strength and durability.

At Qiming Casting, we have collaborated with several local foundries to produce and design a wide range of high-quality, eccentric shafts for various types and brands of jaw crushers. These components are widely used in quarries, mines, and other industrial settings, and we take great pride in our ability to deliver reliable and efficient solutions to our customers.

“Hey there! Are you facing issues while operating your jaw crusher machine? You’re not alone. Many users experience problems with their crusher parts during operation. But don’t worry, I’ve got your back. Let me share some common problems and their solutions to help you get back to crushing rocks like a pro!”

Toggle plate falls out of seat

The toggle plate may fall out of the seat if the feed material is too big, the tension spring is too loose, the material is fed onto the upper pitman cover or if the tension cylinder hydraulic pressure is too low.

To fix these issues, feed the crusher with the proper size material and ensure that the feed hopper’s rear wall is designed correctly. Tighten the tension spring, and make sure the material is fed into the crushing chamber without hitting the upper pitman cover. Lastly, check the tension cylinder hydraulic pressure.

Toggle plate seating surfaces wear prematurely

There are a few reasons for the analysis problem, such as a loose tension spring. To fix it, you need to tighten the spring.

Jaw plate bolts loosening or breaking problem

Loosening or breaking of jaw plate bolts may result from incorrect installation of jaw dies.

To fix this issue, contact Qiming Casting for the proper jaw plates or reinstall the jaw dies.

Stalled crusher problem

Stalled Crushers can be caused by large rocks or tramp iron jammed in the crushing chamber, too small crusher setting, power or motor failure, and damaged V-belts.

To fix, remove the jammed material without explosives, use the minimum recommended setting, check fuses, inspect the motor, and examine V-belts.

Bearings too hot problem

Possible Reasons for the Bearing to Overheat:

– Too much/insufficient grease.

– Incorrect crusher speed.

– Crusher operating in a smaller setting.

– Crusher not level.

– Feeding with fine material.

Corresponding Solutions:

– Use the correct grease amount and schedule maintenance.

– Check the crusher’s speed.

– Use the minimum recommended setting.

– Check and level the crusher.

– Feed with appropriate material size.

A "knocking" is heard while operating problem

Possible reasons for a knocking sound while operating:

– Loose tension spring.

– Improper toggle plate seating.

– Loose jaw dies or jaw dies hitting each other.

– Low hydraulic pressure in tension cylinder.

Solutions:

– Tighten tension spring.

– Check toggle plate and seats for wear.

– Tighten jaw die bolts.

– Check crusher setting and pressure.

Adjusting wedges don´t move problem

Worn wedge surfaces can cause them to stop moving.

A solution could be to reduce friction by adding small stones to the cavity.

Toggle plate breaks problem

There are several reasons that may cause the toggle plate to break. One reason could be if the feed material is too small. Another reason could be if tramp iron or other uncrushable material gets caught near the bottom of the crushing chamber. Additionally, if the toggle plate is not installed correctly, it can also lead to breaking. To solve these issues, the following steps can be taken:

1. Feed the Crusher with the appropriate size material to avoid breakage.

2. Remove tramp iron or other uncrushable material by emptying the crushing chamber.

3. When installing the toggle plate, make sure to inspect the toggle seats for good condition and smooth, even surfaces.

Feed hopper has loosening or breaking bolts problem

Analysis Problem:

There are several reasons why the feed hopper may become loose or the bolts may break. Some possible causes include the feed material being crushed too high in the chamber and the bolt fastener not being applied to the feed hopper bolts.

Corresponding Solutions:

To prevent this from happening, it is recommended to restrict the feed and keep the chamber 2/3 full with the proper size material for the most excellent efficiency. Additionally, ensure that the bolt fastener is properly applied to the feed hopper bolts.

Insufficient capacity problem

Insufficient capacity in crushing machines can be caused by large feed, incorrect flywheel rotation, incorrect speed, small crusher setting, worn-out jaw dies, loose jaw dies, or unsuitable jaw dies profile.

To fix the problem, you can:

– Check the feed size.

– Verify flywheel rotation.

– Check the speed.

– Increase crusher setting.

– Replace worn-out jaw dies.

– Tighten jaw die bolts.

– Contact your local representative.

Excessive vibration problem

Excessive vibration in the crusher may be caused by wrong speed, loose flywheels, incorrect alignment of the flywheel, or incorrect counterweight installation.

To fix it:

1. Operate at recommended speed.

2. Tighten flywheels and weld bolts.

3. Remount the flywheel properly.

4. Check the installation manual.

Crusher speed varies problem

Crusher speed variation may be caused by damaged or loose V-belts and inadequate plant voltage. Check the V-belts and plant voltage level to resolve the issue.

Movement of the jaw dies problem

Issue: Jaw die movement.

Reasons: Loose dies, inadequate clearance, worn-out centralizing lug.

Solutions: Tighten bolts, check clearance (5-8mm), repair lug.

Active setting control: The setting opens by itself. There is no uncrushable material in the cavity.

Possible problem: Analysis issue.

Probable reasons:

– Leaking seals.

– Faulty pressure relief valves.

– Using feed material that is too small.

Solutions:

– Inspect for potential oil leaks.

– Get in touch with the manufacturer of your plant.

– Make sure to feed the crusher with the appropriate size material.
